چکیده

The generation of ever-bigger data sets pertaining to the distribution activities in cities is paralleled by massive increases computer power and memory that are enabling very large-scale urban models be constructed. Here we present an effort extend traditional land use–transport interaction (LUTI) extensive spatial systems so they able track increasingly wide repercussions on location population, employment related distributions interactions. prototype model framework propose implement called QUANT available anywhere, at any time, place, open user. New Communication Paradigms for Very Large-Scale Sensor Networks

In this poster, we will present work in progress on two novel approaches for efficient, scalable communication in truly large scale sensor networks. This work is a follow-up on our papers in IPSN 2004 [1], [2]. Our focus is on applications in which networks of tens of thousands of sensor nodes are required, such as policing activity along a border, monitoring the presence of biological or chemi...

Cunetsim: a new simulation framework for large scale mobile networks

Most of the existing packet-level simulation tools are designed to perform experiments modeling small to medium scale network nodes. The main reason of this limitation is the amount of available computation power and memory in quasi mono-process simulation environment. To enable efficient packet-level simulation for large scale scenario, we introduce a CPU-GPU co-simulation framework where sync...

A framework for multi-scale modelling.

We review a methodology to design, implement and execute multi-scale and multi-science numerical simulations. We identify important ingredients of multi-scale modelling and give a precise definition of them. Our framework assumes that a multi-scale model can be formulated in terms of a collection of coupled single-scale submodels. With concepts such as the scale separation map, the generic subm...

A New Shearlet Framework for Image Denoising

Traditional noise removal methods like Non-Local Means create spurious boundaries inside regular zones. Visushrink removes too many coefficients and yields recovered images that are overly smoothed. In Bayesshrink method, sharp features are preserved. However, PSNR (Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio) is considerably low. BLS-GSM generates some discontinuous information during the course of denoising a...

A Practical Desalinization Model for Large Scale Application

Salinity of soil and water is the most important agricultural hazard in arid and semi-aridregions. In saline soils, yield production directly influences by soluble salts in the root zone aswell as by shallow water table depth. The first step for reclamation of such soils is reducingsalinity to optimum level by leaching. The objective of this study was to develop a practicalmodel to estimate wat...
